Hi Gemma,
I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed R&R and that it was a good intro to that style of writing. R&R is actually my first venture into a book of letters and just sort-of happened as I formulated the story and characters.
In a way, using this format required going into a deeper level of each character. The good part was that there were only two main characters which allowed me to get to know them very well.
I usually write traditional novels and short stories which generally contain more characters, more narration, and more description. The style seems not to be so much a conscious choice as much as a direction that the story or characters lead to.
I also write quite a lot of poetry which, of course, has its own rhythm and flow.
