S. Jackson Rivera Thank you. I always love hearing how readers like my work (or even that they didn't).

Yes! I do believe Paul and Rhees have a little more to show us. I've started it--just tossing a few ideas around,l but so far, it is more like an epilogue on steroids. Knowing me and my long-winded-ness, it'll grow into more as I work on it. I am also working on the sequel to Jungle: The Whispering Ruins, and a totally new one, yet unnamed, is bouncing around inside my head. If you "Like" my Facebook page, you should be able to get updates from there. Thanks
S. Jackson Rivera Having a good excuse to daydream, fantasize, escape real life... I used to feel guilty, lazy, slothful for doing that. It never stopped me, it's just now, I don't feel guilty about it anymore.
S. Jackson Rivera I'd have to say I don't get writer's block. When I finally get in the zone, it comes--and I'm rarely not in the zone except when real life is keeping me, kicking and screaming away from my work. It isn't until I go back--I have to wait at least a week to re-read what I've written before I can see the flaws, because when I first get it out of my head, I think it is the best darn writing ever! A week later, it's more like, "Ugh!"

So, writer's block for me is having a problem fixing what's already written. I sit down, read it, try to fix it, fix what I can, ignore what I can't, move on to another scene that isn't bothering me, get up, do some laundry, go back, read it again, change a few more words, get up, do dishes, go back ...

It once took me 3 weeks to get through one crucial conversation and that is probably not a good thing. People don't want to wait for the sequels but I have to take my time to make sure it is right.

My greatest moments of inspiration come when I'm in bed. It comes from a dream or from laying awake hours some nights but when I get it, it comes like lightening.
S. Jackson Rivera I thought about Jungle for a few years. It grew and grew in my head and I thought, 'I should write this thing down, someday.' I had another birthday and I felt old, started evaluating my life and realized if someday isn't soon, it'll never be. I sat down and started hammering it out. I cried great, happy tears when I realized I'd written my first chapter.

That chapter is in book 2--not finished yet and of course it is not exactly the way I first wrote it. It took 4 years to finish part 1 and my writing changed--improved. (continues to improve, I hope!!!)

So my advice? Sit down and start typing. Stop putting it off. It sounds harder than it really is. Getting started is the hardest part. Just do it.
S. Jackson Rivera Currently working on a adult love story. Hoping the 3 part series will be out soon. Betas gave me a two thumbs up and my editor and I are working out the kinks. Cover artist is also coming up with some great images. I can't wait.

Also, I have Jungle, part 2 about half written. I will get back to it when the love story is finished.
S. Jackson Rivera I would have to say I need inspiration to do anything else. My dirty house, ignored errands, other job, could all testify against me about their neglect.
S. Jackson Rivera So far, they've all started with a dream. I have great dreams sometimes that stick with me. I take one dream, and in my mind, try to see how it would fit in the same story line as another.
One dream about two kids playing around on the fallen rocks of an old stone structure turned into Jungle. A dream about being being mistreated by someone I had to work for inspired Wet. I recently had an intriguing dream where I had a baby --I didn't even know I was pregnant! That is going to be a fun one to expound upon.
