Redwood:
Are you ready for the zombie apocalypse, and a good angsty love story?

Jungle: The Whispering Ruins, is a YA paranormal, action and adventure, kind of sword and sorcery story.

Wet was supposed to be a quick, hammer it out story so I could get back to Jungle II, but it turned into a gut-wrenching, 3 part saga. It's a great beach/vacation read, or if you need a vacation but can't get away.

People are saying they didn't expect all the twists and turns in Poppy's Anthem. Nor the car chases, exploding helicopters ... not your typical rockstar romance.

Feast is a quick feel-good holiday novella about growing up, relationships, and learning to trust your heart.

Peace in the Storm is #16 in a 22 book anthology, The Peace Series. I dedicated

When I finally get in the zone, it comes--and I'm rarely not in the zone except when real life is keeping me, kicking and screaming away from my work. It isn't until I go back--I have to wait at least a week to re-read what I've written before I can see the flaws, because when I first get it out of my head, I think it is the best darn writing ever! A week later, it's more like, "Ugh!"

So, writer's block for me is having a problem fixing what's already written. I sit down, read it, try to fix it, fix what I can, ignore what I can't, move on to another scene that isn't bothering me, get up, do some laundry, go back, read it again, change a few more words, get up, do dishes, go back ...

It once took me 3 weeks to get through one crucial conversation and that is probably not a good thing. People don't want to wait for the sequels but I have to take my time to make sure it is right.

My greatest moments of inspiration come when I'm in bed. It comes from a dream or from laying awake hours some nights but when I get it, it comes like lightening. (less)

“He stared at her again and then smiled a big, goofy smile. “I didn’t really think of it like that.â€ He looked lost in thought for a minute and finally, a mischievous grin formed on his face. “Wait here a minute.â€
He got up and left. He returned a few minutes later and handed her something. A piece of paper, folded too many times.
“What’s this? She took it from him, amused and smiling with curiosity.
He sat down next to her and shrugged. “I dunno, some guy asked me to give it to you.
She tentatively started unfolding, looking up at him with each bend of the paper. Just before the last fold, she could see the crude handwriting inside, as if it were written by a child. She lifted the sheet, opening it up fully and stared at it.
Danarya, will you go with me?

Paul

“Oh my gosh!â€ she squealed with delight. She burst out laughing. “I haven’t received one of these since fifth grade.”
S. Jackson Rivera, Wet: Part One

“You planned this? Why?â€
“Yes. He walked over to one of the picnic tables and grabbed a backpack, which just happened to be there. He pulled a blanket from the pack and laid it down on the sand next to her.
She jumped up and away from him with her fins in her hands. She held them up like a weapon, not taking her eyes off of him. He saw her reaction and it didn’t take long to figure out the thoughts running through her mind.
“Hey! No. It’s not what you think. He stepped closer, but she swung her fins at him and whacked him across the arm. “Ouch! He looked at her like she was insane.
“Stay away from me. This is so not happening. I’ll hit you again, I swear.”
S. Jackson Rivera, Wet: Part One

“A great diving scene. Worth the read just for that:

“Randy! You have the best eyes for bubbles. Find my missing diver.
Paul leaned over the boat and yelled at the people waiting in the water. “Hey! Where’s . . . He examined the faces. It didn’t take long to figure out who was missing. His heart spiraled to his feet.
“Oh, no, no, no! He didn’t hesitate to jump to action. He yelled out orders as he put his gear on in record time. “Get back on the boat. Now!
“I see bubbles! Over there, ‘bout fifteen meters, Randy called before anyone had a chance to do anything.
Paul stood on the back of the boat, all geared up and holding an extra tank with a regulator already attached. He looked to see where Randy pointed and took a giant stride into the water. He didn’t bother to surface before starting the fastest descent he’d ever made.”

“You call her pumpkin?â€ My sister’s voice was filled with awe. “Does she actually answer?â€

“Well, she pretends to hate it. But secretly, I know she loves it. Her face goes all soft and everything.”
Kylie Scott, Play

“It is. I’m your boyfriend now, which
means there’s no room for your hipster admirer. He’ll just have to lick his wounds while we lick other things.”
Kylie Scott, Play

“I thought that one was going to hit me,â€ I said, watching the disappointed girl stalk off into the crowd. “Being your girlfriend is dangerous.â€
“What can I say? I’m a magnificent specimen of manhood. Of course they all want me. But I do appreciate you protecting my honor.”
Kylie Scott, Play

“Oh, yeah. You're the best," I grinned back at him.

"Pumpkin, hello. Of course I am!”

“Life isn’t fair, but living? Living is heaven. Living is a gift. Every gift is different â€ every path is different â€ for some reason this is ours, and the sooner we accept it, the sooner we can stop crying and start living.”
Rachel Van Dyken, Ruin
