Read DEFIER for FREE

Hi all!

I am celebrating the newly edited version of Defier by making it free for a couple of days on Amazon.

I hope you are blessed by it and any reviews would be a blessing. :)

Now, I am working on getting some print copies out there. Anyone want to receive a copy in exchange for a review? I have one copy to give away. The first to let me know will get it.

Me being honest...

Hi All!

So I first want to thank all of my friends and followers on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ for being completely amazing!

I just got my newly edited manuscript back of Defier, a book that I already published. It was brought to my attention there were still editing issues. So, instead of ignoring it, I have decided to be open and honest, AND face it head on.

It was my first fiction book and I had no idea what I was doing and it's clear that editing is not my strong suit. But that is no excuse! Readers deserve better. You deserve better. I have learned from this process and will continue to grow as a writer.

I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for you seeing to the beauty of my story instead of the mistakes. The time you took to read Defier and rate it blesses me beyond what I can express in words...and I'm a writer lol.

Anyway, just thought I would put it out there. I expect to have the revised edition available soon. And SPARROW (Book Two) releases Summer 2016. I will post the book trailer to give you a little glimpse of it.

Be blessed and know you have made this writer's dreams come true!

The story behind DEFIER

I have been asked why I wrote Defier and a blog post that I wrote called Make Me Brave pretty much explains my heart and my intentions of writing the story the way I did. If you are interested, here it is...

Hope you are blessed and encouraged!

The Art of Being Beautifully Broken

Have you ever looked into the mirror and felt broken? Have you ever wished a part of you looked different? Different hair, different eyes, different smile, ears, skin, etc... I could go on forever. I have. I have torn myself down and broken my own heart by what I perceived I should be. I saw women on T.V., movies, magazines, and online that seemed perfect, they seemed to have it all. They were everything I wasn't. And what I saw fed my identity. It fed who I thought I should be and what I thought I should look like.

Often times we point out the flaws before we ever notice the beauty. We nit-pick and complain about what we are not instead of seeing who we really are. I discovered that the more I focused on the world's standards of beauty, the more I felt like I wasn't enough. But when I focused on God and His standard of beauty I began to appreciate, value, and understand real, true beauty. I began to understand that beauty was not outward at all, but inward. Outward beauty is fleeting, no matter how many nips/tucks you have done, beauty will fail you, but inner beauty will radiate through scars, flaws, and wrinkled skin.

Beauty is not about everything you're not, it's about everything you are. I know everyone is all about the #SelfLove right now, but I'm all about the #GodLove because it wasn't until I saw myself through His eyes that I found myself to be beautiful. Through His eyes I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Through His eyes I am beautiful. He sees past my flaws and sees me, the real me, brokenness and all. He makes up the difference and brings the broken pieces together to make me beautiful.

I will never be a size zero and that's okay. I have scars and imperfections and that's okay, too. From now on, I want to focus on my beauty coming from a pure and sincere heart, a heart that seeks God and trusts Him to make me beautiful.

To my fellow women: I vow to not tear you down. I vow to uplift and encourage. Because I have been there, I understand. My prayer is that you see yourself through God's eyes and not man's.

I am broken and I am beautiful.

I am Beautifully Broken.

Dear Reader

Dear Reader,

I just wanted to thank you for giving books a home. As an author I know that a writer's dream is not fully realized until someone takes the time to read their work. Time is the most valuable possession a man has, so for one to spend time on reading the words an author wrote is truly amazing and makes me incredibly grateful. You, dear reader, are a blessing. For you to spend hours reading the world I dreamed up or the encouraging words that I poured onto a page makes my heart swell with gratitude and appreciation. Writing is a journey and I am so happy I get to share that journey with you all. If I could say it a thousand times, without sounding like a broken record, to express how very grateful I am, I would. Thank you, dear reader, for turning the page and reading the stories that mean so much to us as writers.

Sincerely,
A Writer's Heart
