Holding on to summer
The kids are back in school. The college students have ransacked Target. And, I am already thinking about the holidays. Don’t get me wrong. I love Fall. In Nashville, the leaves turn beautiful shades of oranges, reds, and yellows. It is truly breathtaking. But, it also means the end of my back porch writing room. I wait until the last bit of warm weather before I admit defeat and bring all the lawn cushions inside for the winter. It’s the saddest day of the year for me.
But, summer has been amazing. My chick-lit novel, In a Jam was released in April and I found a new publisher for my YA novel, Tuned Into You. My family and I went on a trip of a lifetime to South Africa. I was able to see where Nelson Mandela lived and died, as well as witness up close and personal some of the big five animals. (I’m a giraffe fan!!) If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly recommend it. Although that long flight is not for the faint at heart.

On top of the things I did, I’ve also been working on a holiday novella with a fabulous group of writer friends. Let it Snow: A Holiday Anthology will be released just in time to break out the sweaters and hot cocoa.

Until next time, enjoy the last few weeks of warm weather. I know I will on my back porch.

It’s Release Day!!
I never thought in a million years that I would have THREE books published. And to make this day even more special, In a Jam’s release is on my wedding anniversary.Ìý I’ve been married to this crazy wonderful person for 29 years. In those years, we’ve lived in 9 different homes, had 8 different cars, 3 dogs, and 1 child. Over the years, I’ve had all kinds of crazy gifts for my anniversary. One year, I got tires (or had to get tires). Another time, I got to hire a plumber. I think 29 must be the year of paper, because I got my third book published. Want marriage advice? Find someone who appreciates the fact that you’d rather be writing than doing housework!
I’m still amazed this is happening and I have more stories to tell, so stay tuned.
