Only then, once Laurel has written down the truth about what happened to herself, can she truly begin to accept what happened to May. A few months ago, I finished reading this book and decided to put the review on hold because the experience had been too—what’s the right word? Intense? Hard? Emotional? Maybe. But also beautiful, healing, and inspiring.

“Love Letters to the Dead�� was certainly the most dificult read I’ve done this year, not only for all the pain the characters are in, but also for the themes Ava addresses. Throughout a series of letters to famous dead people that influenced her life, Laurel tells us her story—one that’s full of hurtful events, feelings she doesn’t quite understand and people she’s getting to know. And we learn, as we read Laurel’s words and listen to her music, read her favorite poems or even watch her movies, important lessons:

“But we aren’t transparent. If we want someone to know us, we have to tell them stuff.��

As I turned the pages, I fell for a new character and experienced more heartache. Getting to know them, things only seemed to get worst for them.

Inevitably, my heart broke for Hannah, Natalie Sky, May, Laurel (our precious storyteller), and Aunt Amy. And then, somehow, Ava’s gifted writing style made it okay not to be okay. To hurt. And to be able to heal.

“I know I wrote letters to people with no address on this earth, I know that you are dead. But I hear you. I hear all of you. We were here. Our lives matter.��

All in all, this was one of the most beautiful books I’ve read this year, filled with inspiring quotes and insightful thoughts. Full of pain, full of loss�� and yet so full of life.

A few weeks ago I got this book for free from Amazon and�� Well, being a sucker for the best-friends falling in love sort plot, I absolutely loved this!��

Jess and Eliana have lived next door their entire lives. They grew up playing together and they came to develop a very unique sort of bond—they really, reaaaally get one another. But, being a womanizer, Jess is too bussy dating other girls (and breaking up with them) to do anything about his feelings for Eliana. Until Eliana asks him to kiss her, you know, just for practice, “to get it over and done with��. And then, everything changes.

To begin with, for Eliana, things at home are “rocky�� to put it very mildly. And Jess is soon going away to college, which is not that far away, but it’s not exactly next door either�� Not to mention that anything they do about their feelings could change their friendship for good��

But, some things are impossible to avoid�� Like love! And when Eliana and Jess face their feelings, they get to know one their best-friend in a whole new level.

However, fate still has some obstacles in the way for these two�� And it will be up to them to overcome their fears, predujice, self-esteem issues and pride in order to be with the one they love.

All in all, it was a deleightful story. I loved the characters and felt like Eliana went a long way from the beginning till the end. The plot is fast-paced, things are happening all the time and it’s really easy to follow. The ending felt a bit rushed (in terms of solving the family conflict), and as for the love story, there’s something I really didn’t agree with (but I won’t spoil it for you!) Finally, the book fell in a few clichés that were great to add conflict to it and keep it moving, but clichés nonetheless.

Let me start by saying��

This was so much better than I anticipated! I’m gonna go ahead and confess that what I love the most about Historical Romance as a genre is that it’s full of clichés and it rarely ever lets me down. I know I’m gonna have some adventures, some laughs and a lot of “aw�� moments. I know I’m not gonna have to do a lot of thinking or a lot of emotional processing, which is why I choose these novels when I’m swamped with work or just can’t deal with “heavier�� reads.

Anyways, back to Lady Danger (), let’s start with the biggest cliché breaker—cover and blurp already anticipate�� damsels that, far from being in distress, are wearing shinning armours and willing to fight and die for those they love

This is true to the point that even the sister that seems more “fragile�� ends up being a complete bad-ass and I would completely enjoy to read their stories!

When Deirdre marries Pagan to protect her younger (“fragile��) sister from a marriage without love, she’ll find herself fighting the heardest battles—proving her husband that she’s cut out for the battlefield and not giving in to the strange feelings he awakes in her�� especially when he kisses her.

On his behave, Pagan fears for his wife’s life and strongly believes a woman’s place is not in the arena. He’s commited to keep Deirdre safe�� even if that means breaking her most precious belonging to keep her from sparring—her sword.

As I said, this book was most enjoyable and if you’re into the genre and would like a refreshing twist or two, this is definitely for you

She follows him.��

She couldn’t have ever imagined what she would find behind the closed doors. Or who and what the Darling Boys really are.

First and most important, I want to let you all know that you can read this book for free at and you’re likely to enjoy it

Let’s start with the plot: admitidly, there’s not much that’s new to the story, it’s a bit cliché, and completely predictable (there’s no denying any of that). And yet, the author’s storytelling dragged me right into the story and kept me turning pages until I reached the end!

The chemistry between Aurora and Jeremiah is brilliant. They couldn’t be more different if they tried: she’s always happy, and singing and she loves Disney movies (she was named after one!); he’s a good boy gone bad, involved with the wrong crowd and trying to stay aloof from everyone, especially at school. They have witty chats, they fight, they make up and it all begins again. This would be the perfect definition of these two:

As they become friends, they grow loyal of each other and they have each other’s back, even when they are not in the best terms, and that’s one of the things I loved the most about this book!

As the story unfolds there’s a bit of unnecesary (if you ask me) drama that put me off a tiny bit, but then it was over, and I was dragged back in.

If you’re looking for your next read, you should definitely give this one a go!

Seriously, if you enjoy Peter Pan, ! Also, it’s free, so why wouldn’t you give it a go, huh? For you to have an idea of how good it is, I really want to complain about some “holes�� in the narrative, and I can’t, because everything else that’s going on is great and mysterious and I just need more!
