Hawreh Haddadi was born on the mountains of Kurdistan and soon after came to America, with his parents and siblings, as political refugees. Growing up in the state of Maine, Hawreh quickly fell in love with the beautiful scenery of New England and gravitated to playing basketball year round. He would later travel back to the Middle East where he would learn more about his roots and the struggles many people faced in that region. His travels and studies further made it clear that Americans lived far different lives than most people across the world. Being fascinated with culture and political systems, he decided to pursue the social sciences in college and eventually graduated with an M.S. in Political Science.
