Dear Friend
Dear friend,
Life is full of ups and downs, and sometimes it feels like there are more downs than ups! Believe me, I know what it’s like to be tangled up, and I know what it’s like to have children who are tangled up. I will never forget the time I scheduled our first therapy appointment. My hands shook as feelings of doubt and mom guilt overwhelmed me. I thought that if we needed outside help, I had failed in some way. I quickly realized that is far from the truth. The support and care we received, individually and as a family, was exactly what we needed to detangle and get our mental health on track.
If you are feeling the same way I did, know you are not alone. If your children are feeling that way, please use this book as a first step and conversation starter. The saying “it takes a village is true with everything in life, but especially while caring for and raising children. If you or your child needs extra support, please reach out to local counseling and therapy centers. If you don’t know where to begin, reach out to schools or churches in your area, or use the resources included in this book. YOU were meant to twirl bravely through this life, and I’m cheering for you!
Joyfully,
Jamie Edelbrock
