I've been looking for a great thriller, like early days Patricia Cornwell page turner. Recently a bookseller suggested Kathy Reichs' The Bone Code to me and I started reading it but I haven't been able to get into it. I'm not very far in - page 22 - but I'm not feeling it.
Do I stick with it or put it aside and try something else?
Which does make me wonder if the dead body does have to show up on the first page anymore to draw me in. If so, what does that say about my short attention span. I used to love Agatha Christie novels and those didn't always start with a corpse found on the front lawn.
What do you do? Stop or plow ahead? Any suggestions for a psychological thriller or murder mystery would be greatly appreciated.
