Bestselling author Patricia Sands lives two hours north of Toronto, Canada, in The Blue Mountains, when she isn't somewhere else, and calls the south of France her second home. An admitted travel fanatic, she can pack a bag in a flash and be ready to go anywhere particularly the south of France. With a focus on travel, women’s issues and aging, her stories celebrate the feminine spirit and the power of friendship.

Her award-winning 2010 debut novel, The Bridge Club, is a book-group favorite, and The Promise of Provence, which launched her three-part Love in Provence series (followed by Promises to Keep and I Promise You This), was a finalist for a 2013 USA Best Book Award and a 2014 National Indie Excellence Award, an Amazon Hot New Relea

I had never thought of the word "aspiring" in this way. If you have a desire to write, you are a writer. Don't ever use the word "aspiring" to describe what you do in connection with writing. Coincidentally, I have a great post bookmarked that addresses dropping the use of "aspiring" and I am happy to share it with you here.
Here's the link:

For a writer just beginning to get serious, I recommend reading Stephen King's book "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft" . This book is included in a list I am giving you here of the top ten books about writing and I can't impress enough how important it is to read about the craft of writing as you work to find your own voice.

Write every day and believe in yourself. When you feel you have something you want to publish, work with an editor and proofreader. This is an absolute necessity.

Connect with other writers online and join a group that shares information, critiquing, and support. You will find writers to be a very friendly, encouraging global community. Writing is hard work but the rewards are incredibly satisfying when readers connect with you to say how much they enjoy your work.

Good luck and don't hesitate to send me any other questions you may have.

When I published The Promise of Provence, I had no intention of writing anything more about that story. However, I received a deluge of emails from readers saying they wanted to know what happened next! So I had to figure that out.

What has happened is that The Promise of Provence is now being developed into the Love In Provence series. Promises to Keep is Book Two of the series and there will be four more novels that follow Katherine's adventure in the south of France.

I'm delighted readers became so engaged with the story and feel fortunate that I can continue to write about the south of France, since I love it there! I've become fond of the characters and had a good time developing new personalities that had to enter the story to move it forward. Who knows what will happen next? That's part of the great fun and challenge of writing fiction.

“And the artist, Jaume Plensa’s philosophy?â€ “No, not that.â€ Philippe continued, his voice becoming quietly intimate. “I read an interview with him that touched me deeply. The feeling he expresses through this work is that letters are like bricks. They help us to construct our thoughts. He described his belief that our skin is permanently and invisibly tattooed with the text of our life experiences, and then someone comes along—a friend, a lover—who is able to decipher these tattoos.â€ Biting”
