Shadow Reaper Book Trailer

I love having the book trailers made. They're fun for me and, I hope, fun for readers who enjoy that sort of thing.
For Shadow Reaper they did several interviews with the actors. There are so many, it didn't seem right to upload them all here, but I thought I would post links to them for those of you who are interested!
I did put the book trailer up here on GoodReads if you'd like to watch it!

Interviewing Scott Nova- Giovanni Ferraro in Shadow Keeper

Actor and model Scott Nova has appeared in several of the trailers, including Dark Blood, Shadow Rider, Shadow Reaper and in the starring role of Giovanni Ferraro in Shadow Keeper. Scott was kind enough to agree to allow me to interview him in celebration of the release of Shadow Keeper.

description

Scott, what was your own feeling about playing a billionaire playboy like Giovanni?

SN -Well, first it was an honor to work with you again, and to continue portraying the “bad boy of the family. I got to really just go deep down and pull out what a person would be like with almost limitless funds, and such a fantastic ability of how to travel and convey power. It was a lot of fun to do.

You co-star with veteran actor John Wells in Shadow Rider and join him again alongside Isaac Woofter in Shadow Reaper. What have you learned from these actors?

description

SN -Oh man, I’ve learned so much from John, it’s amazing how giving he is of knowledge and mentoring. I didn’t become as close of friends with Isaac during the filming of Reaper, but did pick up all sorts of tips and advice by watching and interacting with him during the day long shoot. John and I talk frequently, and I’ve tried like heck to keep up with his projects, but that man is BUSY! The first time John and I had a scene together, I froze up, lol and forgot my lines. So, John did them for me lol

What was it like for you to watch Shadow Keeper?

SN -Watching Shadow Keeper, like all the others, is so very cool. To be on screen with those great actors and actresses is fantastic and to simulate being able to have those powers, all the better.

You’ve played a Shadow Rider and a Carpathian, would you play a GhostWalker if given the chance? Or would you rather play a biker in the Torpedo Ink series?

Dark Blood (Dark, #23) by Christine Feehan

SN -Well, with the current craze for motorcycle books and the heroes that are in them, I’d have to say that Torpedo Ink would be fun, but a GhostWalker is just bad! 😊 So, I’m not going to answer, I’m going to just say that I’m versatile enough for them all.

Have you had any fans recognize you from one of the trailers and if so, what was that experience like?

SN -Yeah, I’ve had fans of Christine’s work recognize me at conventions and so forth and it’s definitely a cool feeling to be recognized. I will say that it’s surreal in general to be chosen to be in her trailers and associated with her work, and so the fans wanting autographs from me because of it, is just the icing on the cake. But I never am bothered by fans, because if it weren’t for those readers and fans, I’d just be Scott the IT guy.

Where can people go to learn more about you?

SN -I’m currently redoing my website, it’s not up to the standards of todays models and I will host my stock photos that are purchasable for covers and other needs.

You can also always find me on the following Social Media:

Twitter = scottnovacm

Thank you, Scott for giving me some of your time for my blog.

Vengeance Road Book Trailer Behind the Scenes

description

I wanted to get across that the MC is a cohesive group and I dreamed of having several Harleys taking off or coming in, driving down the road or lined up with riders straddling them. I love motorcycles and I knew I had to have that as part of the book trailers starting with Vengeance Road. So, we put a call out for friends, family and volunteers to help us create some stock footage specific to the Torpedo Ink series with some bonus footage specific to Vengeance Road.
description

It was a long day. It started around 8 AM and ended at 8PM. There was a morning crew and an evening crew since the day was going to be so long. All in all there were a little over 20 people participating.
description

Meeting everyone, hanging out, it was one of the most fun things I’ve done in a long while. There’s some footage that I won’t be able to show for a while since it would be a spoiler if anyone saw it. That was fun to watch it be filmed though.

I loved the wonderful ladies who played Lana and Alena! They were perfect for those characters and they both had a great badass look! LOL

We had four locations where we were shooting. We did some on the road shots, some at a tattoo parlor, at my home and then at a garage. We tried to think of as many shots as we could given that I haven’t written all the books yet so we didn’t know specifically what was needed with a few exceptions. We have riding scenes, tattooing scenes, fighting, kissing, a bar scene, shooting and I’m sure I’m forgetting some. LOL

It was a long, fun day and I enjoyed meeting everyone and watching my characters come to life.

Re-Read Wrap up with Shadow Keeper

description

Have you ever read a book and liked it even better on the re-read? It’s been so long since I wrote Shadow Keeper I nearly forgot how much I love Giovanni and Sasha’s story.

It was difficult to pinpoint just one scene that I loved, let alone three. But, there are types of scenes I loved throughout.

description

I love all the scenes with the brother. I still have readers write to me asking about Sasha’s brother. I love the closeness between Sasha and Sandlin, her big brother with a brain injury. He is childlike and she reads to him and spends time with him. And though Sandlin has a brain injury he still recognizes Giovanni as a dangerous man. I really enjoyed the brother.

I love the scenes that show Sasha’s strength. She’s a country girl with a kickbutt attitude, logical about life and very loyal. She’s not inhibited and has no problem making her own demands. She’s non apologetic about her sexuality. To me, she embodies a real woman.

I enjoyed foreshadowing and layers to the Ferraro matriarch, Eloisa. I showed a little softness to her with regard to Sandlin, but there is no doubt that she is a hardened woman. So much of how she is in Shadow Keeper comes back into play in Shadow Flight. I’ll be interested to see what readers make of her.

description

Now, the intriguing, fun part of the re-read for me looking at what readers found interesting in the book. These are the top three passages or scenes readers on Kindle highlighted. I love seeing what a group of people found interesting or memorable and then trying to figure out why that was chosen or talk a bit about the idea behind that scene or passage.

Kindle Notes & Highlights

#1 -On the asphalt, she could see their shadows had come together, connecting with all the other shadows in the parking lot.
When two people come together as Shadow Riders for the first time it’s one of my favorite moments in the story. There’s an undeniable awareness between them. It’s on a cellular level, a soul level.
It’s one thing for Shadow Riders to acknowledge each other through their shadows, but when it’s a fated couple there’s more to it. That awareness is a jolt. Once a Shadow Rider commits to the relationship they are committed for life. I love the romance of that.

description

#2 - “Sasha Provis is a shadow rider. At least, she’s capable of being one, Giovanni announced to his family. “She’s definitely mine. I was attracted to her before our shadows ever connected. In the club, when she spoke for the first time something in me opened up and she just poured inside. He didn’t know any other way to describe it.

Giovanni knew Sasha was his. It was so strong he knew it even before their shadows touched. Her voice opened up something deep inside him. They were like a lock and key for one another. They are a very strong couple.

#3- “She said I was rather worthless sitting on my barren ass at home all day. She asked me point-blank if I had been tested and was I able to produce children. She made it very clear that I better be able to at least have children or I was useless to you and the family. (Francesca is saying this)

Eloisa makes it easy to dislike her. But, she herself was raised to believe that a woman’s worth was determined by two things The ability to ride the shadows and the ability to produce shadow riders. Francesca, though she had the ability, didn’t ride the shadows. That wasn’t something she felt she needed to do. She also hadn’t produced a child, making her an utter failure in Eloisa’s eyes.

I hope you enjoyed revisiting Giovanni and Sasha. Please let me know your favorite scenes or characters.
