Giving Voice to a Book: Feehan Audiobook Update
There was a time in history where all stories were spoken. People would sit around the fire and share stories of heroes, tragedy, and myths.
As children our parents or caregivers would read aloud to us. Sometimes there would be pictures we would look at as the story was read, and sometimes we used our imagination.

I know so many of my readers love to listen to the audiobooks. Some even have their favorite narrator(s).
Currently, there are nine of my audiobooks that are under $15.00 including my latest Carpathian release Dark Memory! And, the author’s cut of Dark Prince which has 100 more pages than the original release. Normally that one is $38.99 because it’s such a big book, but for the next week it’s only $4.99! I don’t know why, but I’m excited for readers.

I don’t get to choose which audiobooks go on sale and I don’t always know when it happens. But, it was pointed out to me today so I thought I’d share the information.
I see this questions time and again Is listening to an audiobook the same as reading? Have you read the book if you listened to the story? If you listen to an audiobook the book is being read to you. What do you say? Can you count listening to an audiobook as having read the book?
Do you have a favorite narrator?

The Move to New York- Shadow Dance
It's time for a !

Moving the Shadow Riders stories to New York is exciting. Will I miss the Chicago Ferraros? Well, there really isn’t a lot to miss when they show up in New York. They’re there to help, especially Stefano who is close to his cousin Geno. It will be a great opportunity to show the bigger family dynamics as we see the Chicago Ferraro family alongside the New York Ferraros.

Of course, having two alpha males who are used to being the leader doesn’t always make for a smooth experience. What happens when they don’t agree? Especially with emotions high because someone is murdering shadow riders.
I am glad to finally be able to talk about Geno Ferraro’s past. You see how he grew up and why he is the way he is. And how he is with his brothers. Geno, like any of us, is both good and bad. What makes him one way or the other is complex and sometimes surprising. Like Stefano, loyalty is important to Geno. The fact that he believes other shadow riders are killing other shadow riders has a certain sharp edge of betrayal that Geno will be challenged with following the rules or giving into his need for his own brand of justice.

Amaranthe is such a different heroine. Her character is both soft and ruthless. It’s like she lives two different lives, but upon closer inspection they are actually very similar. As a worldclass ballet dancer she must train constantly, be strong and have incredible discipline. That’s how she became a famous dancer. And those traits are why she is an extraordinary shadow rider. One side is creative, beautiful and captivating. The other side is fearless, strong and ruthless.

As a couple Geno and Amaranthe have a rocky start. But once they join forces the only outcome they will accept is complete and total justice. Working together they are almost scary. It’s the emotions, the passion and newness of their relationship that make this dance challenging.
If you could choose between Chicago and New York, which city would you like to visit? I've been to both and love each city for different reasons. Let me know which you'd choose!

Surround Yourself With Joy A Look at My Office
My office has changed throughout the years. Sometimes it was nothing more than my lap or a table. After I wrote Dark Prince and Dorchester Publishing, my first publisher, asked for more in the series, I set up an office in my home up on Cobb Mountain. The room I used had been the baby’s room off our bedroom and I kept a treadmill in it. At the time, there was little money for an office or even a proper computer.
Back in the day!
<
Sadly, in 2015 that house, which I’d raised my children in for so many years, burned in a fire in 2015.
In my home in Mendocino I moved around where I wrote for a bit, but had no designated space. I wrote in my bedroom. I worked for a while out of the den, but I really wanted an office that inspired me, so I asked that we empty out an old storage room that was small but led to a balcony and make that an office.
I love my new office! There are lots of windows, lots of light, a lovely view and so much space. I do share it with Brian, my son, but he has his area and I have mine.

Brian and I found ourselves doing a lot of live interviews in the office so Brian got some cameras, lights and recording equipment and we designated certain areas of the office as media areas.

I wanted to have a beautiful background with things that represented myself and my books. I’ve always loved crystals and of course I love Amur leopards so I got a set of crystal leopards to start my collection. From there I expanded to wolves and other animals that represent my books. I have a lovely tea set that I highlight. Most of my readers know I love tea and I collect tea pots.

My office gives me joy and inspires my imagination. I am happy with the different backgrounds we have for media events that we do online.

What do you love to have around you? What gives you joy?

Murder Mystery, the 1920s, RAGT23 and a Party!
At the annual this year my son, , and I hosted an after-dinner party. I’ve always loved the 1920s as many of my readers know. I’ve had other 1920s themed parties and I love the costumes. I thought it would be fun to have a murder mystery theater using the 1920s theme and am so excited about how well it went.

We found a local acting troop who specializes in murder mystery theater called . They were so fun! The way they put it on enabled everyone in attendance to have a chance at solving the mystery. It was very interactive and so many people told me they enjoyed it.
The costumes were amazing, and I wanted to share some of the pictures.

Let me know if you love costume parties and whether you’ve dressed up for one!

Celebrating Books at the Reader/Author Get Together 2023
Books, book discussions, book exchanges, book gifts, book raffle baskets and book signings. Yes, there’s a theme. Lol But the which is hosted by the talented Lori Foster each year is more than just that.

I don’t travel much but this event is very important to me, and I enjoy it so much. It’s a great way to interact with readers and meet up with friends. I love that it is a charity event that helps kids with cancer. This year CancerFree KIDS received $36,000 and $2000 for the Animal Adoption Foundation from this event.

Lori writes a book each year and much of the proceeds of that book go toward her charity work. Attendees of her event bring raffle baskets that help bring in a large portion of the money that goes to charity. And so many people are generous and creative when putting together the baskets. This year I even won some amazing things! So did my daughter, Denise and my daughter and son-in-law, Domini and Chris.
I sat out in the common area of the hotel for a while to people watch and was visited by other authors and readers who just wanted to chat and enjoy the company. Brian joined me at times, but he was so busy with the boardroom and signings.
We had a boardroom with lots of fun things to do throughout the event. Brian Feehan, Nancy Naigle, and I hosted the “Positively Romance! theme in our boardroom and people got to color, take pictures, talk about writing and get fun gifts for participating. The coloring pages were made just for this event and one was “A Day in the Life of Christine Feehan which was drawn by my amazingly talented granddaughter, Shylah Diehl. She also drew "A Day in the Life of Brian Feehan." I’m very proud of her!
I saw so many wonderful people. It was exciting to see old friends and make new friends! I love that so many people who participate in my online community were there!

Brian and I hosted a 1920’s themed murder mystery party on Friday night. I’ll have to post more pictures in my next blog.

What do you love most about attending a book event?

Time Flies When You're Catching Up
Today is National Pet Day! Here’s a picture of my silly, but lovable pets Sassy and Vlad. And my little grandpup, Luna.

I wanted to catch up with everyone and let you know what I’ve been up to and how things are going.

made the New York Times! I’m so excited to have made the list and want to thank my readers for all of your support of this series.
If you didn’t get to see the book trailer you can see it
I am on the last chapter of Dark Memory and hope to turn that in this week. If you’ve not heard this is book is Petru’s and the heroine is Safia. It is set in Algeria and it’s been an amazing experience finding out about the area, culture and people. I am so fortunate to have someone from Algeria, Anaruz Elhabib, help me with everything from culture to language.
As soon as I finish Dark Memory I’ll start working on Leopard’s Hunt. No, I’m not prepared to talk about it or who will be the hero/heroine. Lol

Brian and I did an interview with Fresh Fiction in February celebrating Brian’s second release of his Alice & Owen series titled Harmony of Lies and we talked about Recovery Road as well. If you missed that you can see it
I did an interview with the Fated Mates podcast that releases April 12th, 2023. I don’t have the direct link yet but this is where you can go to find that link-

I’m going to be at the that Lori Foster puts on each year. I am really looking forward to seeing readers and having fun!
I’m also looking at going to Readers & ‘Ritas in Texas later this year as well. And there’s a good chance I’ll be attending San Diego ComicCon as well.

On May 3rd I will be doing an interview with Fresh Fiction’s Video Book Club and talking about Ghostly Game which releases May 2nd. It’s free to attend but they do ask you to sign up. Here is a link for that-

comes out August 22nd and you’ll get to find out more about the New York cousins. This is Geno Ferraro’s book.
And Dark Memory will be released on October 3rd.
Let me know what you’re looking forward to most this year when it comes to books or book events!

Goodbye 2022 and Hello 2023! Let’s Celebrate and have a Giveaway!

I just hit 50,000 followers here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ! I’m so excited! I’ve been on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ since February of 2013. I’ve met and interacted with so many amazing readers. I’ve been invited to meet the wonderful people at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ in San Francisco. I’ve met great people there. I’d like to give a special think you to Mimi Chan who has such enthusiasm and a true love of books, authors and readers.

First, let’s reflect a bit.

The year has just flown by. 2022 was a challenge.
I love that readers gave a chance and that the book did even better than I expected. Thank you! The fact that this book hit so many bestseller lists just blew me away.
was so fun to write. I appreciate reader following along in this very different direction for the series. Just wait until you read !
took us to our first non-Ferraro hero Eli! The arranged marriage trope is a favorite and this couple ended up such a power couple.
was the next in my romantic thriller series. I learned a valuable lesson with that book I am NOT a good card player. LOL
allowed me to take some new turns with this series. I got to go back to the Lycans, which I really enjoy.
And then was a surprise even to me! I thought I knew who I was going to write about and then two very new characters came out demanding their story be told first! LOL
2022 was special for a lot of reasons but for me I was extremely proud that this was my son, , first book release- . I really enjoyed doing some promo together. We did interviews and went to Hawaii for an event. So much fun!

Now let’s look into the crystal ball toward the future!
I’m hopeful that 2023 will be even better.

Brian has a new book coming out Feb. 21st called . I’m so excited for him! He is now a USA Today bestselling author and I hope readers will discover him. His series is so different! And if you'd like a signed and personalized copy of Harmony of Lies you can find it at !

My 2023 line up has new releases, re-releases with new covers and mass market releases!

is my first new release of the year. It will be out January 24th. This is Master’s book and it was a bit surprising for me as well.
brings us back to Team 3 in San Francisco. I’ve never written a novel quite like this one and I’m so curious as to what my readers will think. That book will be out May 2nd.
will be released Aug. 22nd. At least tentatively. When the release dates are this far out they are always subject to change. This book takes us to the New York Ferraros where Geno, the head of the family in New York, is our hero. Not to worry, you’ll still see some of our Chicago family.
is the next Dark/Carpathian novel, and it will be released, tentatively, Oct. 3rd. We’re still with the ancients. I’m about to start work on that book very soon.
I am hoping to attend some events this year but can’t really say which ones just yet.
For those of you who have been waiting for a new Carpathian Guide, we hope to that that up in 2023! If you've never seen the guide you can see it on my community. Sign up .
If you’re still reading this rather long blog, thank you.
To celebrate the milestone 50,000 followers here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ I thought I’d do a giveaway here from my blog.

Comment which 2022 book you loved most or which 2023 book you’re looking forward to the most and that will put you into the random drawing for a prize. I’ll be drawing three names to receive signed books and one special winner is going to get an amazing gift basket!
I’ll do the drawing on Friday Jan. 6, 2023 at 0900 Pacific Time. I’ll post the name of the winners in the comments on Friday so be sure to come back and look to see if you won!
This is open internationally. Please only post one comment to enter.
Prize includes international translations as well as US and UK-
