Yes, my books are clean—no sexual or violent content, no foul language—but, not necessarily "frum." I would say the material is appropriate for ages 12 and above. Perhaps, before you allow students access to the books, you might want to read one or two yourself. I certainly would not wish to offend anyone or cross a line of impropriety. My books are available worldwide on Amazon. Thank you so much for considering my work and thank you for your great question! L'hitraot!(less)

I'm so happy you enjoyed it! I loved combining my favorite subjects and creating this book. There are so few "period dramas" that incorporate Jewish themes or characters. Bobe Malka is a combination of real women that I've known with several characters from my beloved historical novels. In my mind, Bobe Malka is able to accept the "magic" of time travel because she 'is' a religious person; she is an observant Jewish woman raised by a man who was knowledgeable, as well as full of emunah (faith). If one has faith that G-d does everything for a reason- that Divine Providence is a real and true force in our lives, then one must be open to the "magic" of one's life. If Malka believed in Moses and the burning bush or the parting of the Red Sea or Miriam and her well of fresh water, then I can see her believing that her great, great-granddaughter traveled across time. Once she meets Molly, Bobe Malka understands that her descendant is on a journey; Malka doesn't question this because she doesn't question the wisdom behind the miracle. Thank you for asking an awesome question!(less)

“We are connected, Elizabeth. Of that there can be no doubt. It is something akin to your love of nature, of soil and roots and water and sunlight. Your seedlings could not thrive without one of these components…as I could not thrive without you.”
Mirta Ines Trupp

“You do not credit her for what she has brought to your life. If you do not honor her for who she is and what she is capable of, she will not feel the desire to grow into anything else. Why should she, if what she has offered thus far has been met with ingratitude and contempt?”
Mirta Ines Trupp, The Meyersons of Meryton

“That a woman—of age, well-read, and well-educated—could not be expected to comprehend the stirrings of the heart when men grew passionate for a cause, or grew restless for change, was a grave affront indeed. That her beloved father, who carefully nurtured her every curiosity, and her brother, who lovingly shared every lesson learned, would believe her to be insensible or incapable of aspiring to better the world tore at her heart. She strove to maintain some sort of equanimity but the nature of the events was far too implausible to allow.

“It is a bitter pill to swallow,â€ she murmured at length. “It seems the men in my family deemed it necessary to withhold their dearest worldly concerns from me, after all we had been to one another.”
Mirta Ines Trupp, Celestial Persuasion

RK Hello Mirta, I truly enjoyed your book (tango and knishes) that I was wondering if you have one written in Spanish. I would love to give a copy to my Argentina Jewish mom who prefers reading in Spanish than English. Thanks from NYC.

Sophia Howdy, Mirta!

Thanks for the friend request. I look forward to seeing you around GoodReads and the Austenesque Lovers group. :)

Phyllis Goodwin Mirta - Thank you - Argentina has a special place in my heart. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I have written a Memoir that I hope to publish sometime but at present I am trying to catch up with writing my second novel called 'Father's Dead and Mother's Vanished'. I agree with you that a title is important. So this one may be changed in the future. I have downloaded your book and I think it covers a later period so I am looking forward to reading it. Best wishes

Very happy to make your 'acquaintance' :-) I would be delighted to read your book. The story sounds fascinating. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!

Phyllis Goodwin Glad to be friends with you. You probably have seen on my profile that I lived in Buenos Aires for the first twelve years of my life. My parents met there and spent thirty years or more living in San Juan and Buenos Aires. My first novel Cry for me Argentina is based on my Mother's story of her exciting life in that wonderful country. It is mainly fiction, especially the bits about my Dad being a spy! I returned to Argentina in 2003 and went back to my old school and met four of my teachers - one was 100 yrs old. I hope you will have time to read my book and perhaps review it sometime. I am also on Facebook and Pinterest and shall look you up on those sites. I am reading The Nightingale at present and hope to read your book soon. Your new one looks interesting - I am on chapter 5 of my new novel. It takes place in, England, France and Haiti. It is about a daughter searching for her mother after her Dad is murdered.
