Siyasi nedenlerden dolayı yaklaşık 10 yıl hapis yattı. 2001’de hapisten çıkınca çalışmalarını sivil aktivist olarak sürdürdü. Geçmişle yüzleşme ve hapishaneler üzerine birçok proje yürüttü ve bu konularda kitaplar yazdı. Benzer çalışmalarını kurucularından olduğu Mahsus Mahal Derneği’nde yürütmeye devam ediyor.
