Voices from Hopeless

Hello everyone! If you remember one of my previous blog posts, a while ago I was thrilled to be cast as a character for a silent short film, based on one of my favourite comics (tick that one of the life goals list!).
If you’d like a taste of what’s to come, I give Melisandra of a voice in a short monologue on Saturday the 22nd!

There are so many talented people involved and I canno

W.B. Yeats
“Let us go forth, the tellers of tales, and seize whatever prey the heart long for, and have no fear. Everything exists, everything is true, and the earth is only a little dust under our feet.”

Julian Jaynes
“O, what a world of unseen visions and heard silences, this insubstantial country of the mind! What ineffable essences, these touchless rememberings and unshowable reveries! And the privacy of it all! A secret theater of speechless monologue and prevenient counsel, an invisible mansion of all moods, musings, and mysteries, an infinite resort of disappointments and discoveries. A whole kingdom where each of us reigns reclusively alone, questioning what we will, commanding what we can. A hidden hermitage where we may study out the troubled book of what we have done and yet may do. An introcosm that is more myself than anything I can find in a mirror. This consciousness that is myself of selves, that is everything, and yet is nothing at all - what is it?”

Mir Here is your annual one-day-late wishing of happy birthday!

message 17: by Suna

Suna Haha, I really appreciate your efforts, thank you for the birthday wishes!

message 16: by Mir

Mir Happy birthday, Suna! Haha, I seem to be the only person who uses your profile comment box (funny how some people use it like chat and others hardly at all).

Well, I see I am one day less late this year. Improvement...ish.

Suna My literary adventure is taking off at a nice gradual incline, but getting some very kind attention in places:

message 14: by Suna

Suna Thanks Miriam, that very kind! I had a lovely birthday and yes, the year seems to have moved into slightly calmer waters. ^^

message 13: by Mir

Mir Oh hey! It was just your birthday! Happy birthday! I hope the year has gotten a bit calmer since your last response (which I missed, sorry -- and my condolences on the friend and dog).

Suna Hi Miriam! Thank you kindly for checking in.

It's been very hectic, I've been meaning to get around to some more reviews and literary interaction but life got hugely in the way.
Mostly mundanities but since the start of the year I've had a share of death (a dear friend, only 38, and our 17 year old dog), workload skyrocketing (a very good thing as I am part of an independent film company), a boating holiday and just general things which, unless you grab hold of them and time manage them, pile up and stop any serious Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ time.

I've not stopped reading, however, so I am now looking at the ultimate Mount Doom of books 'to review!
I'm hoping to get around to it soon... ^^
