The plot is certainly important and at the same time, the ending can make all the difference. Often the best stories have WOW endings and sometimes what seemed like a mediocre story has an ending that makes it special. I can think of several examples including Louise Penny’s “How the Light Gets In� mystery. So, if the ending is so important, how do we as writers come up with that wow ending? If I knew, I’d bottle it, sell it and be rich. As an example, I just saw a movie (DnD players should love this one) called “Damsel� and it’s ending is so good that I had to make a video comment. Here’s my take on what that movie does right.
