Welcome, 2015. I'm starting the year in Rangeley, Maine, working on my third Shelter Pet Squad book. I picked this area, because I'm also scouting out a setting for the next book I might want to write. I haven't decided yet, but this area has many of the elements I need. It has dramatic landscapes, lots of wildlife, and has a slight "frontier" feel to it, which appeals to me. Plus it has one of the most beautiful small libraries in the whole state, and that's saying a lot because Maine is full of beautiful small libraries. So here's to a year of new beginnings and new worlds to discover.

The Rangeley Inn. A quirky, fun, beautiful place. You could close your eyes and open them and be in the early 1900s.

The first sunrise of 2015. I walked out on the little porch with my room to see it. It was about 9 degrees out, but worth it.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!Â
