I may have missed it, but I’ve double and triple checked. On page 57, Darby thinks to herself “Jay Nissen. Age nine. Reported missing in San Diego.� Except, at no point was there any indication that I can find that Jay was nine. It’s such a tiny detail but it set the read off on the wrong foot for me. Can anyone point out where this was stated and I missed it?
Lisa Costanzo I assumed that she had learned this detail while talking to her and then it was inserted there to allow us, the readers, to also know.

Some people have labeled this book as horror and mentioned some really awful portions; how bad is this book in terms of horror? I like thrillers, but I’m not into bloody horror. Is it really graphic or do people just die?
