Um...did you read the premise?? WHY would you want a 9 year old child to read about a 7 year old that was abducted and held prisoner??? I don't get it...
Leanne
...... Is this a real question?
Jacqueline Neary
Why so many rude answers?
Susan Barutt
Definitely not! Way too violent, gruesomely so. Do you really want your 9 year old to know that there are such evil people in this world?
Tayah English
Most likely not, but some young kids are really mature. I actually read a book way more violent (and unknowingly had sexual situations in it-oops) in second grade. I was fine and still am(I'm 14 now). I think it was due in part to The fact I was expected to act mature and I wanted to read more 'mature' books. I don't mean R or M rated (I didn't even know of 'R' rated movies) but just more grown up ones.
But yeah, most likely NO.
But yeah, most likely NO.
Deb
let the 9 yo sleep without nightmares!
Gail Coombs
Definitely not.
Elissa Miller
Definitely not. Blood, guts, torture, references to a rape ring.
Amy
I'll be a voice of dissent. I'd let my 9 year old read it, if he wanted to. But it's certainly not universally appropriate for 9 year olds. Some could handle the violence, others couldn't. I found the violence to be rather "Home Alone-ish" personally.
Jill Cloo
Only if you want to give the child nightmares...absolutely not recommend for a 9 year old!
Christina
No, please no. (Short answer)
I'm not sure if you were being serious, but this would be traumatizing for a 9 year old- reading about a kidnapped 9 year old and then how her rescuer is f*cked with, and (at times) there are graphic descriptions of the main character's torture. Keeping this spoiler-free, but as a YA librarian I might not even recommend this to my kids in 12th grade.

Tina
I couldn't sleep after reading this and I'm a grown up. Pretty much.
Lynsey
NO WAY!! Please don't let them read this. It was a tad violent for me at times.
Margi
Lots of foul language. Some graphic violence. Some sexual inner dialogue. Definitely not for anyone younger than high school, imo.
Sylvia
NO--- I had trouble with it -once I started had to finish -
Cheryl Wildman
Just finished reading it. Definitely not appropriate for children. Too much violence and sexual innuendo.
Diana Huguley
No, too intense.
Dee Rodden
If it were a movie, it would be rated R for some graphic violence and adult themes. Some kids can handle that because some of the themes are a foreign concept they don't understand yet and it is easy for them to ignore it. I think if you have a kid who enjoys reading, stick to Hunger Games or Divergent for the shocking scares.
Eva Smith
Yes, I would let my nine year old read it. They know bad stuff goes on in the world. Jay is a very resourceful little girl. And the book illustrates that while there are bad people, there are also good people who will help.
Jen Pawlitsch-Wolters
Oh my goodness NO.
Pat Carlson
I would say probably not.
Lauren Bleser
Definitely not.
Akira
Most definitely not. "No Exit" is violent, gory, creepy, and hella intense. Granted, I read books similar to this when I was about that age (I'm almost 15 for context), and I was fine, but this book is definitely not for a younger audience. I'd recommend mid teens.
Liz Sergent
No, defiantly not. There are so many good books that are age appropriate for your nine year old. Leave these types of books to the adults.
Space Case is a good series, The Perfect Score is another, Mr. Terupt is another good series for this age.

Jillian
no............ -_-
Alisanne
Absolutely not
Stephanie
Absolutely not. There are some pretty intense parts.
Ramona Wolter
Noooooo. Too gruesome for a 9 yr old!
TJ
Probably they should stick with the Hardy Boys at that age.
Stefani
Not appropriate for children.
Amie
Wondering if available on Nook, I could not find but it is not the first time I had issues finding titles on Nook
