Is it necessary to read this before Bitterblue? I just read Graceling, and I have a copy of Bitterblue. -Wondering if I should put it aside and read Fire first? Thanks friends- Loved Graceling!

Veronica Hunter Elanie, this book is a prequel to Graceling. Some characters do show up in Graceling and I believe Bitterblue, but I haven't read them since them cameâ€¦m´Ç°ù±ðElanie, this book is a prequel to Graceling. I think I saw this on a list of LGBT YA book. Is that accurate?

Marlowe Not really. There's room to read the protagonist as bisexual, but there's also room to not. All her explicit romantic relationships in the book are wiâ€¦m´Ç°ù±ðNot really. I was told, that this book is illustrated..Is it true or made my bookseller a joke of me? And which one is the "newest" edition?

Marlowe It's more of a prequel to the first book, but you don't have to have read it to get this one. The two stories are very separate, taking place in different countries and with an almost entirely different cast of characters.

There is, indeed, a lot of romance. If anything, I'd say the romances (because there is some question about who the protagonist will end up with) are the main plot, while the political intrigue is secondary. (less)
