does it come close to the mistborn trilogy?

Is this a stand-alone novel, or will there be additional books to this making it a series?

Ryan According to the "official" cosmere mappers out there the read order for this planet is Elantris >> The Hope of Elantris >> The Emperor's Soul. And th鈥辞谤别According to the "official" cosmere mappers out there the read order for this planet is Elantris >> The Hope of Elantris >> The Emperor's Soul. And these all come just after the White Sands graphic novel saga which has yet to be finished. These two planets would then be preceeded by the Dragonsteel books which I don't believe have even been started (or teased anyway) by Sanderson. Can't wait though!(less)

I loved it very much, especially Raoden's part. I skimmed through Sarene's and Hrathen's chapters at times, to be honest, but Raoden's chapters, I slowed down and savored them. I never wanted them to end. I'm having a post-elantris stress at the moment and all I want to read is Elantris-2. Since it's not going to appear anytime soon, can anyone recommend me a book that could give similar reading experience?

Elantris is Sanderson's debut novel, and I love it. So, so much. But the rest of his writing is even better if you can believe it. I recommend basically his entire Cosmere to any fantasy fan, which if you're unfamiliar, is the Universe that most of Sanderson's books are set in.

I would recommend Elantris and the original Mistborn trilogy to any fantasy readers. Following those, the Way of Kings is an absolute beast, but the best book I have ever read. (I may or may not have a quote tattoo from this series). Read the second Mistborn series (Wax and Wayne). Warbreaker is a must read, and I would recommend doing so before reading the second Stormlight book, Words of Radiance, as there are a couple little things you'll miss otherwise.(less)

Can this be read as my first entry into the Cosmere? I was told to start with Warbreaker, and that Elantris wasn't the best entry to begin with because "Sanderson's writing wasn't at its best yet." True?

Jared It can be your introduction in to the Cosmere. My advice would be that if you don't like it consider trying one of his other stories because this is o鈥辞谤别It can be your introduction in to the Cosmere. My advice would be that if you don't like it consider trying one of his other stories because this is one of his weaker entries in my opinion. It is true that the author's writing isn't his best in this novel but that doesn't mean it is bad, it just means he got a lot better.(less)
