THINGS KEEP GETTING BETTER AND I CANNOT PUT IT DOWN. PS. Yato is totally hot during that kimono era something, like, his God of Calamity side is so hot.
This was good but getting little bored of this series. With the whole "She hates me because I did this in the past" and a person getting tricked so easily I'm losing interest. But I might come back later. A 3 out of 5.
Damn, Bishamon and Kazuma's backstory is BRUTAL. I can't imagine what an emotional toll that would take on someone, living or dead. And it breaks my heart that both of them have been suffering like that for years, possibly decades.
That being said, I know it's a little late to bringing this up, but I'm not feeling Kugaha as a villain. While I think his motivations are interesting, he's just a schemer and it doesn't seem particularly threatening. Not to mention the fact that his entire plan hinges on all the other shinki being compliant, which strikes me as odd that literally NO ONE BUT KAZUMA spoke out against him. Seriously, all those shinki and only one had issue enough to do something? Seems a little contrived. Though I guess narratively speaking it makes sense in the context of Bishamon's relationship with her shinki. But whatevs, it's not a deal breaker or anything.
I think the next volume's the conclusion of this arc, so I'm looking forward to the climatic finale! (of the arc, not the story)
Oh gosh. Heartbreaking ending. Finally we find out what happened between Bishamon and Yato, and it¨s surprising and frustrating and reflective of the complications in this world, the complicated relationships, misunderstandings, and brokenness of this world. When trying to help, you can end up destroying a relationship, and the repercussions can spread far beyond oneself.
I guess this episode really got me thinking and feeling. For that, I¨ll give it five stars.

This manga continues to deliver! The evil behind Bishamon is at work and the ultimate showdown between her and Yato draws near. We learn the story behind the hatred she has for him and where loyalties lie. Great plotting and exciting coming this far in the story but 'waaaaa' the ending! OMG, so totally devastating if what appears to happen really happens. Waaaaa! Need. next. volume!
Another great installment, with an ending that would have KILLED ME if I hadn't seen the anime/didn't have the next volume to pick up immediately. I love Yukine and Yato's relationship SO MUCH. Ugh.
Side-note: The "Atrocious Manga" at the end of each volume is absolutely priceless. They're like ad libs that might be included in a movie's blooper reel. HILARIOUS. <3
The plot thickens! In Volume 5, the readers finally come to know what¨s the deal with Noragami, ^Yato ̄ the stray God and Bishamon ^An└-sama ̄, the strongest God of warriors! The fascinating backstory behind this nemesis was intriguing to read. Our fun little high school girl, Hiyori, another leading character continues to run amok with a tail without getting her wish fulfilled by Yato, which is cute and funny. Yato and his Shinki i.e. weapon, ^Yukine ̄ develop a bonding, deciding to put up with each other. I kinda feel it¨s a drag because in the beginning it was developing as a promising character arc with Yato¨s dream of becoming a rich and famous God one day and getting his own shrine, one of the reasons possibly why anyone would be hooked onto this extremely hilarious concept of a Stray God wanting to become a Elite God. Anyways, looking forward to continue the manga successively.
Yukine makes his first real friend on his own, Suzuha, and this is the fulcrum that balances this volume. For all the chaos Kugaha is sowing trying to bring about Bishamon's downfall, none of this happens if Yukine, in his innocents, doesn't try to make a friend on his "shore."
This is maybe the easiest to spoil volume when trying to talk about it, so I'll say little other than it was a really great installment that has some huge swells. I think that the current story arc is closing in on it's ending and that's good news because the implications that has for the world are huge. So many conflicting emotions from so many characters. I liked this one as much as any so far because it kept raising the stakes.
Yukine!!!! I actually screamed that part. But my friend who finished reading wayyy before me said not to worry about it.
Man, what a cliffhanger. I am so mad at Bishamom right now. Even knowing the back story doesn't help. She doesn't learn from her mistake. That many shikis and she did not get to know them, of course there's gonna be a few who's disgruntled.
Hiyori though. Yato blushes a lot around her. How is he gonna hide the fact that she's precious. Yukine is all for protecting her...slightly sis-con ish. :P
Yeah, I'm pretty into it now. Kind of wish they didn't translate umaibou into Deliciastick. It doesn't really work to make up a fictitious snack name if there's no English equivalent. Maybe "snack stick" would have worked better or even Umaibou snack? I know what an Umaibou is, but I didn't pick up on what they were going for with Deliciastick unfortunately.
I like the explanation for the different names for the clans. That's a nice touch.
The translator notes are really good as always! I'm curious about the Byakujou staff name too. But sometimes a name is just a name, I guess?
i already watched the whole series and i loved it but i wanted too read it too because the manga is always diffrent then the shows but where im at now is really good and something bad is about to happen i cant wait till i finish it and yato is going to fight a big fight for the person he loves but doent want to say it ;)

Everyone in this series: ^Protecting your shinki is a god¨s most sacred duty!!! ̄ All the gods so far: *treat their shinki like trash and/or get them killed*
I can understand what is happened in the past... No one is to blame... Last scene!? I can¨t understand!? I really like Yukine!! I love the combination of Yato and Yukine. If Yukine died, will Nora be used as a weapon?? I can¨t see the combination forever?! I wanna read.
