[close] This group serves as a forum for middle school (grades 5-8) teachers to discuss literature options that are appropriate for this age group. Ideally, when giving suggestions, we could cite state or CCSS standards to demonstrate how other teachers could use the texts. Group members should be current or former teachers of grades 5-8. This is NOT exclusive to ELA teachers, and we welcome teachers from other content areas.

[close] Hello and welcome to #BooktalkInPJs! Thanks for joining this fun little English book club. Here is the deal: We will vote on a book in every uneven month (January, March...) and then we will read the winner in the next even month (February, April...). You can propose your book ideas for the months topic until the tenth of the voting month in the respective discussion folder. After the tenth, the moderator will post a link to a Google survey, where you can vote until the twelfth. If it's necessary to hold another voting, the moderator will tell you. On the fifteenth, we will have a winner. This one will be our book for the next even month. There will be reading sections you can use if you want to, but the discussion folder is to be used after you finished the book. If we will hold a live stream for the book of the month will be decided individually and you will get a message about it. This book club was originally formed for german readers to read more English books. This has changed over time and now is open to everyone, so the official language for all communication in this club is English.
