My problem with this book was that Jodi tells her story in a chick lit way. As a result the dialogue seems contrived and the emotional crescendos seem fake and a little staged. There are some nice touches but the book suffers from being cheesy and overwrought. Like a mediocre late night TV movie. I think Jodi tried too hard to make the book memorable and overplayed the pathos of the protagonist. With the result of making her book less substantive and too sentimental.

I'm school librarian with the lazy days of summer finally stretching out before me like a blank slate ready to fill by reading my little librarian heart out.
