I started this book thinking I knew what it was about and where it was going. Nonetheless it was a very compelling read - keeping me up way too late till I nearly finished the book in one sitting.
Farenheit 451, written 60 years ago, is set at some unspecified future time. One assumes we have either reached, or passed, that ambiguous "future" era, and so it is interesting to see what Bradbury "got" and what he "missed" in his predictions. I didn't listen to the Tim Robbins version of the audiobook, but this one was great. I thought I'd read it a long time ago, but realize now all I remembered was the 1966 movie, which, in memory, is very stylized and pretty emotionless. The book is much, much better. Looking forward to the group discussion.
