Rachel asked:

How does this book compare to 'Miracle In The Andes' by Nando Parrado? Are they quite similar or is it worth reading this aswell?

Antonio Santoyo This the original book that announced to the world the tragedy of the Andes survivors in all detail, whereas the Parrado book is just his memoir of the event written many years afterwards. For me, is one of the best book I ever read, and I've read it many times over, both in Spanish and English. In fact, I'm thinking of buying the kindle version and read it one more time.
Ginny T. I read Alive twice in the 1970s because the concept of their survival was astonishing. Miracle in the Andes is a far superior book because Parrado doesn't just write about incidents: his book is suffused with mature reckoning and moral adjustment after the event. The survivors and relatives have regular reunions, and Parrado is well connected with how they felt and feel now. This book touched me deeply. One part in particular reminded me of Man's Search for Meaning.
Faigame i don't know but the book is really good
