The idea came after discovering the beginnings of journaling in California, back in the 1970s. I realized that it might help people in all walks of life, and more particularly, perhaps, it might help aspiring writers. But that is a spin-off from the basic self-help principles.

Hi Stephen, I just finished your biography on Thomas Rowlandson. Is there any further information on his wife Elizabeth Winter (aka Betsey Winter)? You write she was buried in 1835 next to him in St Paul's churchyard. Do you know if Rowlandson had a headstone with his and her name on it? You also mention Rowlandson's brother in law Samuel Howitt. Did they do the Giles Grinagain prints together? Thank you, Peter
