Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sandra Jones I'm a complete comic book nerd, so yes, the riverboat gambler from HER WICKED CAPTAIN originated with X-men's Gambit! And after seeing the movie with that character, I couldn't help but imagine Taylor Kitsch as the tortured young steamboat captain. A little research brought up the name of Caroline Dye, a former Arkansas slave who'd become a legendary psychic in her time. She was the basis for my fortuneteller heroine.
