Christie asked:

I am totally confused. I'm reading disjointed nonsense prose. With the 4+ starts, I'm guessing that it comes together at some point, but I don't know if I can stick it out. How long does it take to start making sense?!

Maggie Stewart i never acrtually finished the book and continue to chug along in chunks from time to time. my understanding is that there isnt really a main plot, just following each character and their activities and thoughts. i think woolf is aiming to give the audience a clearer understanding of people and how they think. maybe even the 6 personalities/types of people she believes exist. i am not really too worried about what is actually happening. woolf is more of an aestheticist meaning it if for the aesthetic or feelings and moods it gives off. this book was very unusual when written, even for woolf and continues to be today although considered classic literature. it isnt really a very normal read in any way.
