At 39 years old I've just finished this book for the first time. It is worth it a thousand times over, in my opinion. I am picky about fiction books. This one is a treasure. Enjoy!

Definitely worth it. Having watched the movie at seven or eight years old and remembering only the nasty parts, the book wasn't on my radar until I downloaded it on a whim recently. Glad I did, and I am sure I will read it again. Wonderful, powerful read.
