ŷ asked Beth Harbison:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Beth Harbison Being able to live whatever life I want, with whatever people I want around me, by making it all up. When I was 13 and decided I wanted to be a writer (I remember it distinctly, I was in my back yard under a tree reading a Dorothy Eden book), I remember having the conscious thought that a writer must never be lonely because of that.

On a practical level, one of the best things is simply that I can run my errands, do my grocery shopping, go to the doctor, etc. any time and not just during crowded after-work hours.
