Mo Galway asked:

I thoroughly enjoyed the Elegance of the Hedgehog, it was captivating from beginning to end. I had not read any of Muriel Barbery until now. By reading the Elegance of the Hedgehog first, have I spoiled the full enjoyment of Gourmet Rhapsody?

Jean Fisher Thanks, Ellen - I think I will read Gourmet Rhapsody. I wonder if I can challenge myself to read in the original French - wonder if I'd get it.
Ellen Not at all! In fact, they are stand-alone books. You'll actually understand more of the context, but it won't spoil the plot at all. Gourmet Rhapsody (in French, Une gourmandise) is elegantly written, filled with bitterness, and genuinely fascinating. I hope this helps!
