An amazing book, brilliantly researched. One question: Legat reminisces about his time in Oxford with Hartmann, in particular their trip to Woodstock, to the Black Prince pub. I'm sure I read somewhere that this pub was called something else (the Wheatsheaf?) until Colin Dexter used it in one of his 'Morse' novels, after which the name was changed to 'the Black Prince' to match the story
