My favourite book of yours is probably At the End of the Orchard. I found it fascinating, not least because I live in a house with an old orchard on the Isle of Wight in the UK. I wonder if there was any chance of you revisiting any of the characters? I felt the door was left open for that, do you think you ever might?

How did I miss your question? Sorry about that! Glad you enjoyed Orchard so much. I don't tend to think in terms of sequels. The one thing I do know about the characters at the end (trying to avoid obvious spoilers) is that there is indeed a grove of redwoods on the border of England and Wales, planted in 1857. So that much happened. I think I'm going to leave them there!

The Glassmaker (I read the ARC) is now my favorite book of yours . . . which is hard to admit because all of your books are so terrific. While writing the book, how did you wrap your head around Orsola living through all the time periods? I thought it was brilliant that she witnessed the world . . . and her place in it . . . as time seemed to stretch on and on for her.
