Is the concept of the Mist at all inspired by Terry Pratchett's idea in Disc world (specifically Death's series because I haven't read the rest) where people don't see Death/other supernatural things unless they're magicians? Or is it a coincidence that the ideas are similar?

Rick Riordan I love Terry Pratchett, but no, the Mist is an actual force from Homer's Iliad, so the concept isn't mine and it's pretty old!
