I'm not sure I have much advice to give! I'm not really an expert myself. Writing is just about getting the words down and then editing relentlessly. Every page I write gets minimum a dozen read-throughs by my own eyes before anyone else sees them. I guess my biggest piece of advice is when you think you're happy with the way something sounds, read it out loud. You'll find a lot of little mistakes or areas that are confusing when you say it to yourself. Otherwise, write and don't stop!
