Tracy Chevalier Apologies, Jen, I have only just discovered your question! I have a new book out in September called A Single Thread, about a single woman in 1930s Winchester, trying to find her place in a world that expects all women to marry. Cathedrals, embroidery, bellringing - it's all in there!

I love how you weave different crafts into your books. For example, the tapestry details in The Lion and the Unicorn, paired with the complexity of your character such as At the Edge of the Orchard (my fav!). Do you find that these crafts inspire the books?

I have read all of your books but for some reason it is Falling Angels that I keep going back to over and over again. To me it is the most complex and also the best of your works. What I found especially interesting is its portrayal of the suffrage movement. Most authors hold up the suffragettes as heroic icons. What led you to write a more negative story about women's suffrage?

Big fan here. Iâ€™ve read all of your books and I look forward to The Glass Maker. Would you consider delving into the world of a little known Jewish Scientist named Rosalind Elsie Franklin (1920-1958)? She was an influential British physical chemist and X-Ray crystallographer whose work was central to the understanding of the molecular structures of DNA. In the end she was overshadowed by men who got the Nobel Prize.
