Kristen Curtis I think he’s referring to his happiness disappearing. He mentioned the same scene (snowflakes melting) with his mom in the front yard when his dad was away.
Megan I think it meant that he had made up his mind to kill Allen, just as he "caught Gabriel", he's going to "catch another one" which would also mean that he is going to feed his psychopathic/sociopathic (sorry I'm not sure which) urges as others have suggested
denise kay jacobs I think he's giving in to his own insanity, removing himself from reality.
Jennifer I too struggled with this. I recall that at one point in the book Theo and Diomedes were talking and Diomedes suggested something about snow. It was when Alicia finally started talking. Maybe that was some foreshadowing for when the truth unfolded itself it would snow? Not sure but thanks for asking this question as I'm equally as confused.
Vada Taylor I agree with Denise. I believe he was removing himself from reality.
