Jack Heath In Copper Beeches, he listens carefully to his client and others (Holmes is extremely good at this in many of the stories), watches the scene and principal players and then, after accumulating enough information in his own mind (neither Holmes or Watson reveal much of this while events are happening), he acts at the right moment.
