The book's premise befits this day and age. Shouldn't more people consider topics for some time, rather than going by gut? Professor Peterson (12 Rules for Life) believes gut-driven opinions degrade people into tribalism. Still, your line "having strong >supporting< facts" suggests one needs no debate. This I don't like as much. Rigid opinions are - apparently - not gut-driven, but suggest a good discussion is otiose.
