ŷ asked Mark McLaughlin:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Mark McLaughlin The best thing about being a writer? It allows me to communicate with the world. Growing up, no one ever listened to me, except my grandmother. In turn, I was the only one who really listened to her in her final years. She was from another country, and many of her neighbors could not understand her strong accent. I understood it because I grew up loving that accent. She was a very beautiful woman who was married many times, so she had a lot of adventures to share. Listening to her made me realize the importance of storytelling. Since then, I've made storytelling my life, and I've written plenty of stories and books. I'll keep writing until the day I die, and maybe longer. Don't be surprised if you hear the tap-tap-tap of keystrokes rising from my grave (in the very distant future, of course).
