What is the big difference between the 2nd edition of Stone Dance series and the original one, because I notice it is now seven volumes long. Same length split into smaller volumes?

it's actually considerably shorter than the first edition: roughly 500K words v 700K... a reduction of 25%. I gave it a very hard re-edit, fixed piles of stuff, cleaned up the prose, changed one of th emajor characters, added new material. It's a considerably different work—truer to my original vision.
