I never read these in middle school but recently saw Netflix is making a series based on these. I like to read the books first if possible but was wondering if these were more for kids or if adults enjoy them too?

Tieno Honestly, it really depends on you as a person. I think it's a pretty good novel plot-wise if you're interested in just reading it for the story. The narration and the storyline make the novel seem like a classic hero story and I 100% see this as a good family movie. As for reading it... I didn't particularly like some factors of this book. It is perfect for kids but... as an adult reading I wish there was more to the characters. The characters felt kind of flat. It's a very "cartoonish" kind of book. I recommend checking out my review for a more explanation on why kids would enjoy this more than older readers
