It isn't scary. It just throws light on the devil inside you and what form it can take if not controlled.

I think it is more appalling than "scary." If it is scary, it is scary in a good way, in that it scares us not to act as Dr. Jekyll chose to act. There is, however, a senseless, brutal murder, so if you are asking in regard to a child reading this, take that into account as you decide.
Richard "King"
Not scary at all. Its an old classic book, people where scared by most anything back then. Take a hint about one thing, a classic book written a super long time ago has a slim chance of actually being scary.
Natalie Bowen
It is to some but not to others so if you think that it is scary then it is to you but it isn't to some, some just have a certain tolerance for things.

Not scary in a supernatural sense, but more about human nature and society. There is, as mentioned in this thread, depictions of murder, assault, madness and death. So maybe don't read this to a very small child.
Josephine Briggs
It is very scary. The devil coming in and out. These people didn't know what was happening or why. Cold dark read

I would say: Not for the faint of heart, but this book is not really that dark. It's intense, that's for sure, but much lighter than a lot of the movies that people are going out and seeing these days.
Maryam
It is not very scary
