Nothing at all wrong with this book for a teen. It may or may not hold their interest, but if it does, they will probably turn out as a more mature, thoughtful and appreciative son or daughter.

there is a lot of abusive behavior because her parents were abusive and her dad is an alcoholic, and its accepted and romanticized instead of chastised, so you are going to want to have a conversation with your teen.
