Hi Michael, in In the Shadow of the Hanging Tree and The Scout of Wounded Knee many but I assume not all of the characters are historical figures. Now my question: Are the two main characters, Henry and Everett, historical or fictional persons? (My guess would be fictional.)

Both Everett and Henry are fictional. The third book in the series, tentatively titled, Joe Little and the Indian School, is set up in the same way. The title character is fictional, and many of the supporting characters are real historical figures.
