A Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ user asked Beth Revis:

Hi Beth, do you write from personal experiences and feelings or is that part of the magic of writing? Is there, for example, some sort of Synthetic Emotional Theory to draw upon when a character meets a situation unfamiliar to the author? Or is imagination strong enough to fill in the gaps? Thank you for your wisdom!

Beth Revis Imagination!

But actually, a lot of what we feel can be echoed in any character, despite the situation of the character. For example, Elder wants to be leader of the ship--I drew on my own desires to be a published writer. Amy misses her parents, who are cryogenically frozen; I drew on my own homesickness when I went away for college. They may be in a spaceship, but you don't need a spaceship to feel claustrophobic.
