I started this series when I was about 14 - still obsessed now and I'm 24. It has a little bit of a sex and a lot of violence in it, but I don't really think that's much of an issue in books, compared to the need for age restrictions on films.

There are quite a lot of explicit descriptions of sex, some of them fairly long. If you fear your caregiver will find this out and take the book away from you, it's probably not worth starting.
And I'm afraid the sex scenes are relevant either to the plot or to character development, so I can't recommend you just skip them. If you really don't want to read them, or at least skim them, you're better off with a different book.

I would say 16-18, but 14-16 would work for the third and fourth books (Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic). Just because the sex is a bit more intense in Bitten.

I think 18 years is a good age as you know it holds gore and sex, but on that it's one of the better supernatural books out there so it would be good for teens to get away from the Twilight / Fallen / Shiver books to know that supernatural doesn't need to be trash.

well... I cant really say, because i am 13 and i love this book and you would not believe me if i told you how many overage books i have read. I just love these types of books, murder, mystery and love. Personally i think this is the best type of book you can get <3
