Definitely Sam! Such a selfless love he has for Frodo <3

How do you choose just one??? I'm torn between all of the hobbits, because hobbits are the best. Merry and Pippin are both so cool in the face of danger; Merry's brilliant and Pippin's so chill. Then Frodo is selfless and brave, and Sam so incredibly loyal... they're all just perfect.

My favourite character is Faramir. He has a much different portrayal than in the movie and to me symbolizes the hope and goodness of man. MVP in my opinion.

I think my favourite character is Sam. He is just so loyal to Frodo and is quite a lovable character.
Leizel
Eowyn and Faramir! <3
Berna
My favorite character is also Sam but I really like Aragorn as well.

I think Legolas, although they all are pretty cool. But Legolas is incredible without being stuck on himself.
Actually, I just rethought that. I think my favorite character is actually Glorfindel. Despite his super short part, he was beyond incredible.

I'm partial to Sam! He's very loyal to Frodo, and it's very sweet.

Sam, for sure! The loyalest friend ever!

I don't think I've seen anyone mention Quickbeam. I just love how jolly he gets, and the images of him dance and treating rowan trees with respect is super adorable.

My favorite character is probably Aragorn because he just seems so strong, so tough, and so brave. :)

For me my favourite character in this book is Aragorn (AKA Strider). Of course the hard part is separating this book from the trilogy as it was intended to be just one big novel.
Granada Dolores
Boromir, of course
Nat
Pippin and Galadriel!
GS
No one said Gandalf in 6 years 😳
twinvi3
Boromir of course
Maryn E
Its so hard to choose! But Legolas and Aragorn are probably my favorites!

I love Sam's character qualities, but, like, okay, this is shallow, but Legolas is HOT
Emily A
Goldberry and Aragorn.
Aspen

I have just completed reading The Fellowship of the Ring, and have started with The Two Towers.
I do not remember most of the details from when I saw the movies (back in 2000s), but what I do remember is that my favorite character from the movies was Gollum (besides all the members of the fellowship, of course).
However, Gollum hasn't had too much of a presence in the first book (except for the backstory with Bilbo and scenes where he has been following the Company). I am hoping to see more of him in remainder of the books.
My favorite characters in Book 1: Bilbo and all the members of the fellowship (except Boromir).
PS: The two characters that pleasantly surprised me while reading were Tom Bombadil and Galadriel. I had very faint memory of both these characters from the movies, but they are both now among my favorite characters in the book. When I visit middle earth, I would like to meet both of them. Maybe sing a song or two with Tom Bombadillo, and receive some elvish gifts from the Lady of Lothlorien! :p
