Why are you releasing RED in April 2016 when you are done writing it?

It does seem strange, doesn't it? The truth is there's a lot that goes into publishing a book beyond writing it. Once I've written and edited a book with my editor, the marketing and publicity department then does quite a bit of work before the book goes on sale. They print Advanced Reader Copies, or ARCs, and gives them to book reviewers, book sellers, librarians, and teachers to read and review and hopefully get some excitement going before the book is released to the general public. We have to plan blog tours, book tours, interviews and book signings. All of that takes time and it's hard to set all of that up before a book is finished. I hope that helps!

Hi Liesl--this question is from my mom, who just finished reading Rump to lead a school book-club. "How do you feel about the similarities between "Rump" and the television show, "Once"? Are you a fan of the show? My mom also says she loves your name--my sister is named Ava "Lise" after the character Liesl from "The Sound of Music."
